Last night at the Avalon was a lot of fun. The band played great tempos and there were lots of new people to dance with. At the first band break, Kevin Warren presented the GBSDC a check for over $400 earned from his variety show, Anything Goes. Kevin has put a lot of work into organizing shows to help expose more of the public to dancing and make money to put back into the community. Thank you Kevin!! Also, we unveiled our promotional raffle of Blue Sky 5 cds. $1 gets you 3 chances to win; we are going to raffle one cd at our Nov. 13 dance with Joe Maher and the Big 4 Combo and two cds at our Dec. 11 dance with Blue Sky 5.

After the dance, several of us drove up to York for the late night dancing at Yorkzapoppin', York 's first lindy exchange. It was surprisingly close; it took less time to get there than to get down to Glen Echo. They have a cozy little venue at the Little Alcazar on S. George St., and it was a blast dancing with new and different dancers.
