Thanks to all the follows who made our Sadie Hawkins Day dance a big hit. The dance attracted dancers from Delaware, York, Philly, Virginia and DC. Many follows remarked that they had danced more at this dance than at any other. Hopefully, this dance will become an annual event.  Big Joe & the Big Four Combo were a huge reason that the dance was successful. The band sounded great and played a good mix of tempos to suit all levels of swing dancers.

If anyone out there has an idea  for a theme dance feel free to chime in on the forum. We've had some discussion already about a vintage dance, a black-and-white clothing dance, dances honoring a specific band leader or musician, etc...  If we get enough interest in any one idea we'll see if we can make it happen.

As promised, we raffled off the first of three Blue Sky 5 CDs. Congratulations to Clarence for being our first winner.  Don't fret if your number wasn't drawn - you could still be a winner! Hang on to your ticket (or if you don't have one, buy a ticket!), there will be two more drawings at our next dance, December 11th.  Join us at the Avalon and dance to Blue Sky 5's great tunes.  We will feature the FlyCats performing their Big Apple routine to Count Basie's iconic smash hit  "Jumpin' At the Woodside". Don't miss it!

Thank you everyone for helping to keep the swing scene going strong! Have a Happy Thanksgiving and get plenty of rest before the next big dance!
